Hello,
for my work i would need some optics to read pressure from manometer from distance up to 10 meters.
(that manometer looks sth like this: http://upload.ecvv.com/upload/Product/20117/China_SF6_Density_Monitor2011726923481.jpg)
What are the neccessary optics parameters for this?
I will be thankful for any help.
Regards.

Following your link gets one back to this post using Google.

Ten meters is really a pretty small distance, so a lot of your magnification requirement is going to be related to the size of the display as well as the quality of the characters in the display.

Is this reading from a dial gauge?

Can you read from a solid rest or do you need to do this offhand?

Welcome to OT by the way. Big Smile

That dial is about 10 cm in diameter. I need to know on which number the pointer is pointing.
And it should be offhand. Some close range monocular(guess it could be cheaper than binoculars). I am new to this so i dont know what magnifying parameters should i look for.

I just used my Sightron S2 blue sky to read some very small print on a microwave here at work from 10 yards away.  They are 8x32.

The room is lit by florescent lighting and I could see everything with no problem.

I would think binoculars would work better.  Then you have both eyes to see the image.  I have a 10x25 IOR monocular, and I have a very hard time holding it steady vs binoculars.  Holding it steady enough to ready small print like that would be an issue for me.
