Basically right now you aren't suppose to carry a firearm into an establishment that serves alcohol.  This would allow you to with  you NC CCP.

I'm thinking we should see this go through.  I've called several rep's and senators offices over the past few weeks and pushed them to protect the 2nd amendment.  My dad is actually good friends with Mike McIntire so I have gotten to talk with him personally.

All's well and good but I can see no good in it. Guns and Alcohol don't mix. This could lead to a situation that might be bad for the cause. IMO

I don't think it allows for drinking while carrying. But if I'm goin in a resturant that serves and have no intention of drinking I want to be able to carry legally. In fact havin been apporved to carry conceald I want to be able to carry anywhere (reasonable). Who's gonna rob a bank if they think some percentage of the patrons there may be packin. Or anywhere else for that matter. Most crooks are cowards and won't risk leathal confrontation. And the ones who may not be cowards aren't gonna be so quick to hit just anywhere. Like most people I have no desire to hit someone with a club or stab someone with a knife or shoot someone with  gun but, If I'm put in a place where defending myself and family is neccessary I'll use any of the above. That is the only thing a citizen and a crook have in common. A gun is easier and effective. Take away guns and it only gets less convenient.

I got off subject a little but its all in the same package.

You can't drink while carrying, you can carry if others are in there drinking.... think "drunk idiot" gets outta hand and tries to hurt you or someone else..... would you rather be armed or not???

It changes in the sense that I won't have to be overly cautious of being harassed because I am carrying.
Cool

I like the idea that I can go to say Carrabba's, which serves alcohol, and still carry a firearm concealed. I honestly do try to comply with state laws at all times. When I go to a "waterin hole" I leave my firearm in my truck.
Federal laws however......
