Hi, im wondering if anyone can help me with finding some kind of origin of a pair of binoculars i bought at a flea market the other day. Googeling doesnt help me much, all i have to go on is the "Kogo" or "Koco" logo, Field 7.1' and a manufacturing nr. (No. 41196) the right and Navy 7x50 Coated optics on the left.
Cant find when or where it was made.

Any help with info would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Sam

Hi, SweSam:

A few photos would be nice.

Are you sure it does not say “Nipon Kogaku” (Japanese Optical). US Navy binos have not had the word “Navy” on them for many years, and then very sparingly.

WJC: I realize the original question is coming up at being four years old, and that Swesam never got back with you. Well, I have a similar pair. "Kogo" logo and serial number on the plate next to the right diopter adjustment and "Mariner 7 x 50 Coated Optics" next to the left diopter adjustment. I have also done a bit of research and cannot find much information. Would you think that "KOGO" is a just a brand one of the Japanese makers sold it under? They were my fathers and I ran across them when sorting through a box of his Army memorabilia. In spite of being stored at his cabin by the ocean they are fairly still clear and fully functional. Just curious.
Never forget your binos.
