I think you might have that scope too far back. Have you shot it the way it is?

That Marlin is a fairly light rifle and .270 has a bit of recoil. I'm seeing you getting hit in the eyebrow with the scope that far back. The Viper has enough eye relief that you should be fine moving it forward. If it were me I would move it forward about an inch. Thunbs Up

Those are great little rifles. I got an XS7 in .243 for my wife. I think I just may claim it as my own though. I'm with the rest of the crowd though on moving the scope forward. 
We measure it with a micrometer, mark it with a crayon, and cut it with a chainsaw.

nice rig if they ever offer a 7mm rem mag I'll be geting one. do you know how much it weights ?
