I've found a round in the ear puts them down.  Anywhere else, they may be dead - and just not know it yet.

And they do not go quietly.

I have a Ruger Alaskan Guide in .454 that I carry as a backup to my rifle (in case I need 6 quick rounds); but in truth, I think I might rather be mauled by a boar than shoot the damned thing, recoil is - um - stout, to say the least.


Nice gun, take a picture of the first piggy it drops (or the blood trail to the piggy it hits and severely pisses off.)

it's quite addicting.. and we can hunt them 24x7 by any means we choose!
it's been just over a week and I am jonesing to go this weekend

problem is, I have more hog meat than I need already!

you know.. I always ask before I go hunting if people want any meat
get  lots of "sure!" 's but when it's time to actually get the meat, that when they suddenly don't seem as interested...
