Its a Weatherby stocked Anschutz 64 action and barrel. I will be shooting it in the sporting class leagues at the local gun clubs and doing some small game hunting with it. I have a price range of around $ 500  and don't really know how much magnification is needed for 25,50 and 100yard targets.   I was thinking 12-14x on the high end and 2-3x on the low end. Any help or recommendations will be appreciated....  Thanks Kevin

Very nice rifle.  I'll been looking at the Weatherby .22s myself.  I'd look at a Leupold or a Zeiss for plinking or target shooting.

Very nice!  4x12 with adj AO?  I have always had 3x9 rimfire scopes on my .22's.  Never set one up for target.  Would venture a guess the AO would help keep things in focus.

Thanks Gents for comments... Decided to go with the leupold vx-3 4.5-14x40 fine duplex with adj obj, and talley rimfire rings.Called cs at leupold and found this scope close focuses down to 25yrds vs the 75yrd range that the side focus model offers. I put the order in with CFII @ SWFA and now its just a waiting game. Thunbs Up

sweet, i was hoping you would get a loopie. for some reason, that gold ring really helps set off a nice wood stock. i was thinking if i ever decided to scope my 452 cz it would get a lower powered loopie. 1.75x6 would be perfect for me.

Leupold VX3 4.5-14x40 adj obj mounted with Talley bases and Talley fixed low rings. I got talked out of using the 11mm rail and sure glad I did. The Talley low rimfire rings would have not worked with the overall size of the adj obj bell. These pictures give the more accurate color of the Weatherby stock.  I have to get to the range now and see how it shoots.  Like to also give a BIG THANKS to CFII at SWFA for helping out with this project... Kevin

That's a beautiful rifle.  Makes my Cooper look a little dull.  Glad I went with the same scope though.  Let me get it mounted and we'll compare 100 yard targets just for fun.

Kevin, have you had a chance to take your .22 Weatherby to the range yet?  If so how is she shooting?  I'm in the market for a .22 bolt myself and was looking at the Weatherby, Remington, Browning T-Bolt, CZ.  Thanks, birdhunter

For paper targets I'd recommend SFP scopes, bcoz FFP ones will have solid reticle on max. magnification.

bird hunter66, I have had rifle to range one time and it shot pretty good. I will say I am a little disappointed in the fit of the weatherby stock and the anschutz action. The barrel is real sensitive to torque on the trigger guard screws so much that it does not stay free floated. I have taken action out of stock and are working on making barrel channel a bit bigger. This might be the nature of having wood stock with no bedding or pillars not really sure . The annie does have a awesome trigger just dont know if I would spend the money on another when you can buy a nice cz for half the cost....

Thanks Coyote for the information on your Weatherby.  I was looking at the CZ, T-Bolt Browning and the Remington Custom shop .22 bolts myself.  Just not sure which to go with.  I have two Browning X-Bolts in 7mm-08 and .243 and they were both deadly accurate out of the box.  I've always like Remington 700 action but I hear their quality isn't what it use to be.  I have a friend that owns a gun shop and he is high on the CZ rifles.  Best of luck.  birdhunter66

Had a Weatherby auto, and accurate for an auto--I think yours is better w/the Anschutz action. Congrats!
