I just received my Mueller Tac II 3-10x44 from SWFA and I'm sorry to say I'm not impressed yet.  It didn't get here until after dark so I won't be able to give it the daylight, out-the-window test until tomorrow morning, but in just looking it over, the dots on the mil-dot reticle are much smaller than I expected (tiny!), and the green oval "Mueller" logo on the left side was put in so carelessly and wavy it looks like an optometrist's depth perception test where a letter or two will stand out noticeably from a line of letters.

I realize the logo thing is kind of nit picky; I'm just hoping it's not indicative of the overall quality of the scope.

I would take the logo off or just wrap over it with camo-form.

Mil-dots do seem tiny but I think if anything they get more complaints for being too large.  When I talked with Mueller they said they made the 4-16x50 subtend accurately at 8x because people felt at higher magnifications it would be too large for varmints.

My new Tac II is much better in the light of day. Mil-dot reticle is clear and sharp, but I wouldn't want the dots any smaller. They will be fine. This is my first mil-dot so it's going to take a little getting used to.

Glad you like it, what rifle did you put it on?

Right now it's going on a Mini-14 Ranch rifle, but that probably won't be its final destination.

I had a Leupold VX-1 3-9x40 on the Mini-14, but didn't like it so I gave it to my son. This Tac II is already a big improvement just holding it in my hand and looking out the window.

I'll bet you'll really like the mildot once you get used to it.

Takes the holdovers and messing with turrets away.

Do you use anything like the Mil-Dot Master, or just do the math?

I never got technical... probably should.  I sighted in at 100 yards and held on on at 200 and 300 to see where the dots were in relation to my hits.
