Does anyone have any experience with the Mueller lines of scopes?  Primarily the APV.  I'm looking for a scope for my Savage .17HMR in the 4-14X40 range.  I'm not looking to spend a whole lot of money for one.  I know these are pretty much budget scopes, but I can't really justify spending a huge amount of money on one right now.

Don't own a mueller but do have a banner and find it to be bright and good tracking.

I have a Mueller mounted on a Marlin 917VS the 4.5x14x40APV as of today I have been completely happy with the performance, so happy in fact that I have bought another one for another rimfire gun.......

I have the Mueller APV on my .22LR, there's nothing wrong with it.
At 14x it is as clear as when it's 4.5x.

I put an APV on a 243 as a long range coyote gun and am pleased with it.  It is very clear at 300yds (max distance at our range), holds zero well and tracks well.  If it stands up over time and everyone is getting the results I am, it might be the best for the buck varmint scope out there.

I just purchased an Mueller APV 4.5-14X based on the postivite feedback from a question such as yours, seems to be a good buy.

I've owned 2 muellers and one gets beat to death on my atv everyday . As solid and dead on as any other scope I have in the cabinet at home . Take that for what it's worth .... but hey seem to be darn good for the money . Surprisingly clear optics . I'd take one over any bushnell banner any day !

I have a Mueller APV and a Bushnell Banner.  The Banner is brighter.  Both are clear.  The Banner I have is much larger and heavier.  The adjustments on the Banner are more solid but not by much.  If this were a hunting gun I would go with the APV or a smaller Banner (I have the 6-18x50) but if it were a range gun I would go with the Banner.  It kinda depends on if the extra magnification is needed and if the extra size/weight is worth it.
