Hi all:

Bought three 4200's (solely as a result of my education on this site) and mounting them today.  I may have a problem.

First one I mounted on my son's Tikka T3.  Looking at various objects in our subdivision, I'm quite impressed.  There is a garage about 100 yards away with an octagonal decorative vent louver.  Looks crystal clear through the scope and I can easily see the individual louvers.

Then I mounted next one on my Rem 760 and was admiring the same sights.  However, then I noticed that as I moved the scope left/right or up/down and the vent was no longer centered - It quickly went out of focus.  Crystal in center, loses focus the closer to the edge.  I thought normal, as I had read posts about the "sweet spot/"

However, when I go back to my son's scope.  The effect is somewhat noticable, but no where near as pronounced.  Doubt I would have ever noticed it with his scope.  Definately a huge difference in the 2 scopes.

Comments and or follow up questions appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

As I think about it, guess I should check out scope # 3.

Without mounting, the third one appears to be between the two.  Not a good test until mounted.

Don't have anything to add but will be following this very closely. as I also have been looking at the 4200's.
Do have a few questions. I'm assuming the scopes are all the same power and are all on the same power setting?

Which 4200s did you get? Are they adjustable objective or set?

Did you try moving the focus adjustment at all?
