I just recently purchased a Swarvoski Z6 and a Remington 700.  It was mounted for me so please don't bash me too much for being a newbie. ;-)  When I look through the scope I can see a very small portion of the rifle barrel at the bottom of the scope.  Is this common or do I need taller mounts?  I know the taller mounts are not good for accuracy.  I currenly have Leupold mounts on the gun.  It does bug me a bit but I am not sure if this is common for a 50mm scope.  It looks like my barrel is 1-2 inches longer than my old Winchester model 70 so maybe i have just not dealt with a longer barrel before.

Thanks for any help that you can provide.

Sounds like you have the 2-12x50 z6, no worries, it's normal when you have the power setting on 2x.

Exactly.  It is the 2X12.  I am such an idiot.  I was starting to panic a little.  Of course, I moved the scope around a little to see if I could fixe it so I screwed up the bore sight they did.

I had a leupold 1-4X20 on one of my rifles and could see the barrel on every power except for 4.  I just got used to it.  It never affected any of my shots.

It is normal, there is only one fix: get higher magnification scope.

If you had a 1X, you'd see more of the barrel.
