I am fishing for suggestions for mounting a 6.5-20X 50 30mm LR/T Leupold on a Remington 700 .338Win. with a Hart barrel. Barrel taper will allow a medium ring height possibly a low one. I would like to get the scope as low as possible. The gun is capable of .5 moa groups @ 100 yds. I will be hunting Elk from a overlook with the setup.  I use a Titanium 30-06 with a 2-7X when still hunting so weight on the .338 is not a issue. Thanks

I have the Talley mounts on three different 700's and they work great. 30mm rings with a Kahles 2.2-9 Helia on a KS Mountain that kicks pretty good and never a problem. Good repeatability when removing and putting back on, too. Never had that problem with plain old Weaver's either. They're just ugly, though.

Badger Rings and a plus 20moa Badger base. There really is no other choice the LRT scopes are big scopes and the .338 Win Mag is heavy recoil ( could use the max 50 rings but you dont have to).
