I have a remington bdl that I'm trying to mount a grand slam 3x10x40 on, I ran into a problem with the power ring. I have leupold bases on this rifle and wanted to use leupold rings, the low rings are to low for the bolt to work back and leupold medium rings are too high. Anyone had this problem before? Thanks alot!

What do you mean by the medium rings are too high?

The low rings are to low causing the bolt to hit the power ring when opened. The leupold medium rings are a little higher than I like( bell of  the scope is too high off the barrel) I was wondering if another company made "low rings" that would work with the grand slam scopes. I like my scopes mounted as low as I can get them. Hope this helps, Thanks for the replies.

Had the same problem with a Remington 308 and 3rd gen. springfield. Get the one piece weaver base that is higher and use the low rings. You will have to cut he base into two bases. Hack saw works good, A diamond saw works well. Clean up and true with a what you have available, file works good, surface grinder better.
