Hi All,
Hi Everyone...1st post Howdy

I finally chomped at the bit, and my SS 3-9X kit arrives tomorrow. The fact that SWFA kitted up that scope with a fine assortment of goodies for the original price pushed me from 'interested' to clicking "buy".

I'm getting my first bolt rifle at the end of the week...I've decided on a Tikka T3 CTR Scout in .223. I'm no stranger to shooting, but this will be my 1st 'precision' rifle, as I'm looking to get out to some longer ranges.

My question is--the kit comes with the Bobro QD mount. I have a Bobro on my DD M4v5 with a Trijicon and it works great. I'd like to have the new 3-9X do some double duty on both the Tikka and the DD. Can this mount work on both rifles? I notice folks seem to use rings on bolt rifles. I'm really scrambled on this, because I was tempted to get the 10X kit--which comes with rings--but then I lose the ability to put some higher magnification on the DD...at least to easily switch.

Will the Bobro work OK with the Tikka?  Is it silly to think a scope can be put to use for both rifles? My concern is that the Bobro will be a little high on the Tikka, whereas I'm guessing it would be fine with the DD.The priority is to get the right mount for the Tikka, as the DD has already got a nice 1-4X--but I'd just like to get a little more reach out of it with the 3-9X.

Thanks for any insights or feedback!

Welcome

Welcome

Welcome

Excellent

I personally think you will be fine if you find a rail that you are happy with, you will have two different Zeros of course but they will be astonishingly repeatable, I have moved my 10x that is on a SWFA mount between a few rifles and then back and it is usually zeroed 1/4 to 1/2 MOA off at the most, you will also note that the height over bore will be a little extreme but for the .223 you will have plenty of adjustment left.

I know Some others on here might not agree but it will work if you want it to work.

Unless the scout means extended Eye Relief.

Thanks for the insight and the welcome to the OT!

I should have specified in my original post...the Tikka Scout is a little confusing in the sense that it does not have the forward mount as is found on a traditional 'scout' rifle. It just has a pic rail right above the action.

The issue you will have is with the bobro the scope will be very high on your bolt gun.  YOu will need to have a high cheek piece to be able to get a cheek weld.

But as far as attaching, as long as both have a picatinny rail it should work.
