Generally, I expect to have to adjust my scope's elevation adjustment to compensate for proper height when zeroing a new scope. But the windage
part of the equation bothers me.

Assuming the scope is in the exact middle of its adjustment range, I can't imagine a windless day producing anything but pretty well centered POI.
My new Super Sniper scope required a full revolution of the windage turret to get it centered. My thought is that the mount is the culprit and it's
not holding the scope perfectly parallel to the gun barrel.

I'd appreciate thoughts on this. Perhaps not all mounts are created equal? I'm sure they're not, but how far off are some of them?

It is very common to be somewhat off-center. It could be the rings, the bases or the barrel might not be threaded perfectly straight into the receiver. It could be all three acting together. It usually isn't too much of a problem, at least for windage, but Burris Signature rings are an easy fix with their available eccentric bushing system. This is an excellent system, but I don't know if they are available in 30mm. Anybody know?
