Just came across a gun I haven't seen before and didnt' know if you guys had either. Mossberg mailed me a copy of their latest product cat. and it has a rifle (308) called the 100ATR Night Train. Has anyone had any first had experience with it? It looks pretty cheezy, maybe they are hoping they can make it look tactical and all the wanna be shooters will buy it? Maybe its a great gun, maybe not? It comes with a bi-pod that doesn't appear to be to sturdy, and a 4-16x50mm variable scope with sunshade and flip up covers mounted on a picatinny rail. Now I am not bashing this before I have even laid hands on one but wanted to know if any of you have. I have several of their scatterguns and keep a Mariner on my boat like its more important than a life jacket. I just haven't know them for out the box accuracy on a rifle and didn't know if I had missed anything.

I've seen one at academy, same mossberg rifle, with a very flimsy bipod, Barska scope, no heavy barrel, and same junk stock. I believe they are made on Howa actions, with someone elses barrel. Good action, but everything thing else is pretty much junk from everything I've heard/seen of them.

I have the night train and it's not bad. Night train II looks alot better built. Harris bipod, bigger scope (still Barska), etc. It shoots decent, but not even close for being bore sighted from factory. I got it for half the price of retail, at least. Sold it and ordered Night train II(half retail price also) |

it's hard to compare. I didn't shoot it alot. It does shoot decent though and seemed to be fairly accurate was it was sighted in. It took about 20 rounds to get it decent. inch and a half groups at a hundred yards without sandbags. The 16 was by far alot more shooter friendly, but it doesn't even compare to the night train.
