I was wondering if Mr. Koshkin or anyone that has handled a lot of Sightron scopes has seen this before. I have a Sightron SIII 10-50x60 LRMD/CM. The picture shows my view at 10x when looking straight down the tube, in-line with the center line of the scope. The top of the image is cut off a bit -- the vertical stadia line is only about a third visible compared to the bottom. If I move my eye position down to try and see the upper and lower vertical stadia lines evenly, the scope will not give me an image anymore (it blinks and gives me a black image). Interestingly, when I zoom in from 10x toward 50x, the image begins to center more and I see more and more of the top vertical stadia line that was cut off at the 10x view. Has anyone had this issue? I'm sure its a simple alignment fix so I'm gonna send it off for repair. If I pay some extra money wonder if I can have them change the reticle to mil-hash while it is being repaired, as the mil-dots on this scope are really big... Thx! |

Yes, it occurs when you are near the elevation range of the scope. If your scope is zeroed at a reasonable range and you have used that much elevation you can try tapered bases to bring the scope back to its middle adjustment and restoring the view.
