Has anyone looked thru the Minox MD 50mm 16-30 scope? While I plan on buy an 80 mm scope this year, I think having a small compact scope would be useful. Especially on my trips up on the White River National Refuge where I will either be out walking or fishing.
I know the Nikon 50mm is very good. Just wondering how far down the totum pole the Minox would be.
 Thanks in advance.

The Minox MD 50 is an excellent scope: sharp, bright, light, compact, easy to use. I also have the Nikon 50 ED with 20x WA eyepiece. They are in different leagues. While there is nothing optically wrong with the Minox, if i put them side by side the Nikon 50 ED is visibly better (brighter and sharper) with more vivid color rendition.
But, Minox has a rotating bracket for mounting on the tripod, this makes it very flexible as to how you can mount it and use it.
