Any experiences with either, I am looking for good performing low light binos, think the APO HG would perform as well as the 8x56

The Minox non-APO bins I have looked through all showed significant Chromatic Aberration (CA).  I would think the APO would be the better overall performer, even with the 4mm smaller objective.

And relatively narrow FOV in all Minox, except the APO I believe.

I have been looking at a friends recently purchased 8.5x52 hg glass that is no longer made . They have the same german glass as the ones being manufactured in germany but put together in japan.I can say that the edge to edge sharpness is fantastic imo.

I certify that the binoculars is fantastic.

I have owned Minox HG 8.5x52 BR Made in Japan.

A very bright, contrast image with no color bias whatsoever, they also have excellent edge sharpness.

Limitations - narrow field and the large chromatic aberration at the edges

I just bought the Jap version of the HG 8x43, they are good binos the mechanical build is excellent, sharp image. I compared them to the Zen Ray 8x43 ED3 less CA in the ZR not that in the minox it's a big problem. The ZR colors seem to pop more than the minox, kinda like if you were photographing with a saturated slide film. The minox the colors are astonishingly true with no bias. The minox is about 5 oz lighter a couple inches  shorter, for me ergonomics of the minox are much much better than ZR as well as mechanical build. I kept the minox and sold the ZR
