I just recently bought a ruger m77 22-250 and I was wanting a good scope with a range of about 500-600 and was wanting something in the $300-450 range. I was also wondering if their were some scope out their calibrated for a 22-250

Rather than buy a scope "calibrated for" your round, I'd buy a scope and add the turret with a real-world calibration for your round.

Rather than get something that is "almost" or "mostly" right, you can get exactly what you need with Kenton.

Will this be a varmint gun (I know it is a varmint caliber, but wanna be sure before the recommendations start flying.)

RC had good advice on Kenton industries, just work out what load you will be using before ordering and they will make turrets to spec.

I have two (2) Millet 4-16x56 Mildot scopes and love them, one on a Bushmaster Varmiter and the other on a 308. Use both on a regular basis, never had to change anything except re-zero for bullet weight ( easily done with turrents ). Clarity, field of view and hold-over using the mildot reticle are awesome. The 30mm tube gives more MOA than the Nikon and Burris I have. You may also want to consider using a 20 MOA rail and a good quality set of QD rings too. ( I used Leupold ) IMHO, the Millet is well worth the money and I would buy another one If I could find a 50mm without an Ill reticle.
