I just got my Millett LRS-1. The target turrets seem really mushy. In fact, it's sort of hard to distinguish one click or two. Is this just my scope?

Try this, run it all the up then all the way down a few times in each direction same with windage.  see if they start getting better.  you may need to do it repeatedly for a while before you give up on it.   but try it first.

If that doesn't help. remove the turret caps and see if you can wipe off some excess grease.

I gave it quite a few rotations either way (140 MOA is a whole lot of clickin'), didn't seem to make much difference. I also tried to remove the turrets to see if they were greased up, but the allen heads only loosen about 1 turn and then before it begins to actually turn the turret. I don't see how I'd actually remove the turret caps.

The windage isn't that bad, but the elevation turns like a pepper grinder. I haven't owned many scopes, but something definitely seems wrong compared to my Bushnell 3200. Does this sound like a defect or QC problem?

The clicks should be audible. I think there is likely too much grease. It could be another problem though. Put the scope out in the direct sunlight fora couple of hours, and turn the turrets about every half hour. The suns heat should help to get the grease moving around a bit.

Hello guys

the clicks on the LRS are auditable,  where as the TRS are more quite.   The knob will not come off with out some work. its captive so you guys will not lose it in the grass........ I know how that works.

There may be too much grease.  but the clicks should be evident each time you move the knob.
You have a couple options.  1 send it back and they will repair it for you.   2 live with it as long as you can tell how many clicks you turned.   3 wait and see if it gets better with use.

Sorry you had problem.

Steve
