it was -15 this morning when I went out and started my Durango!  Thankfully, we didn't have much wind, and still the wind chill was -25 or so.

I don't miss those days at all. Frozen pipes suck. Much better now. If I leave water in the garage it won't freeze.

They do not like running water is an under statement.  When I still had to deal with that, I pumped it once a year.  Saved a lot of problems.

pumping will help, but that kind of water constantly on your drainfield isnt good for it. i put 20-30 of them a year in up here. mine is one size bigger than i need just to be safe.

i have a trailer house and it has that flimsy vinyl skirting and that doesnt stop cold at all and my heat tape only goes so far before the water line enter the underside of my house, well it freeze were the heat tape stops, ive stuffed more insulation in there every year to try and help finally i started to put 2" certifoam on top of each other and use a 2x4 to hold it up. thankfully we got all that snow and it covered all the skirting so ive got extra insulation which helps.

I hate it when they trump up the wind chill. The fact is, when it's cold and windy, it is definitely colder.
They have started this real feel B.S. now. In the summer it's the humidity and temperature factored. In the winter it's wind and temperature.
Whatever, give me all three separately and I'll know how to dress for outdoors.
