Looking for a quality tactical scope for AR-15 and Savage Model 10 with 30mm tube and Illuminated Mil-Dot. $500-$800 would be great with warranty. Leopold and Nikon O.K., but a high tech scope would get $1000 consideration.

Long time no see Catusbill. Here is this great scope it is what Koshkin is currently using

and offers alot of all around performance for the money it is a lttle less than $1000 and you

get free top of the line tactical rings. It is the IOR 35mm 2-12-32 the price you see on the

website is the retail price.

Yep, been watching Koshkin and will run a search to see all the past postings.

Oh, what happen to the XOTIC deal? Anyone know if they will come thorough with a new release?

You've got to check out the 35mm IOR line of scopes.  I have a 6x24 model that has impressed me immensely.

I would have bought a second hand Zeiss Diavari Z 3-12*56 and fit it with bullet drop compensator and drop the idea about illuminated reticle.

When buying scopes on budget the illumination is the first "whistles & bell" to drop as it's really only usefull when it's really dark and in such case is a good german scope the way to go anyway.

Personally i would have used the reticle number 11, but it can be had with mildots as well.

I can't understand why ever buying budgetscopes instead of second hand full quality.

Regards Technika

Here is my previous setup.

Hello,  for a grand, or slightly more, you can find a nice second hand Nightforce 5.5-22x56 30mm with IR mildot.  The IOR 4-14x50 IRs can be had for ~$850 NIB.  Like Ceylonc said, you might consider the 6-24x50 35mm IR from IOR, which comes with rings too, so that's basically $100-$150 savings there and they can be had for ~$1100 if you do your homework.

The Zeiss Diavari 6-24x56 will be a bit more for non-IR and a good deal more for the IR mil dot. Even used the S&B PMIIs will be a good deal more.

Personally, I picked up a new Savage 10FP LE2B  two summers ago and mounted a Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14x50 on it and can't complain for the money.  It's only 1" and FinePlex, but it's a pretty nifty piece of glass; however, it is a little short on UP so you would want to pick up something like a Ken Farrell 20MOA base.

Take care, Chris

They have some Nikon Illuminated Tacticals on the samplelist at a significant savings.
