Sorry I've been down this road before. Looking for the best performing low light/no light scope in the mid price range.
I ordered a meopro 3.5-10x44 4C but got sent the wrong scope. The guy was sorry for the mistake and offered me a scope at his cost price.
Nothing like getting a chance to second guess yourself .

Anyway what would you go with?
Stick with the meopro 3.5-10x44 4C
               or maybe
leupold VX-3, 3.5-10x50 illum german 4
leupold VR-X 4-12x50
               or
something else?

I know a 56mm would be better in low light but its only going on a 30-06 and max shots around 300m and it will be set on on x5 or x6 most of the time.

Your thoughts much appreciated.

regards
Oyster.

Robster80,
just double checking on my choice, the meoptas scopes always get mentioned when the question of lowlight comes up but not so much the leupolds ( the VX6 could be alright).
If I knew when the meopta R2 4-12x50 (with the new lens coatings)was coming out ,I save a little more and get that. I think it would be perfect for me.
I ran a little low light test when the meopta 3.5-10x44 turned up. To my eyes a 40 year old kahles heila x6 I have still had a brighter picture and easier to see reticle. I set the meopta on x6 it was as clear as the kahles but the picture seems to be a little darker, had a blueish hue to it .Where as the kahles tends more yellowish green which was easier for me to see.I thought 40 years on, the new lens coatings would of made a bigger difference.

Pretty shaw I'll stick with my choice meopta 3.5-10x44 4C.

Just a quick update,

After been sent the wrong scope, a meopro 3.5-10x44 4C turned up the other day. Have not mounted it yet or compared it to others but it does look really good in low light, the 4c reticle is good but you lose the fine crosshairs in the shadows ,that's where the illumination will help with shot placement. It works well as the light fades when the illum is set low on 1 , any higher settings I thought were to bright for very low light. For any legal hunting times the meopta 4 reticle would be fine.

I had asked for talley mounts the guy didn't have any so he put in some dnz huntmaster 2peice tactical lows, hopefuuly this all fits together. I'll get some pics when its all together.
