Mexico Troubles + Swine Flu = Cave-in?

First off..... over the past year or so you may have noticed several articles about how the Mexican government has been having a lot of trouble keeping itself together.  Heck, it wasn't that long ago that the International Monetary Fund bailed out Mexico in 1995 to restore the collapsing peso.

Add to that.......I recall reading about some US Army brass commenting that they had contingency plans for a collapse of the Mexican government.

The southern tourist areas I have visited quite a bit.  Things "seemed" stable and very dependent on tourism down there.

Northern Mexico seems rather chaotic.  Granted, I haven't PERSONALLY spent any time in northern Mexico or Mexico City to understand that area.....but clearly there are troubles.

Now with the Swine (Pig) flu and the resulting deterioration of tourism to virtually everywhere down there..... I would imagine this has a real possibility to cause serious fallout.  Even with that, a general "fear" in the populace.... assuming the average Mexican even KNOWS about these cases with the media control down there.....could cause all kinds of local and national collapses in the Mexican government.  This certainly isn’t all on the scale of the Influenza deaths in the early 1900s… but it would seem to me it doesn’t take much to cause a panic in a population.

Granted, though, the Mexicans I have met (Mostly through others) seem to be a very resilient people.

I was wondering if any of you jokers have thought through any long-term impact of the swine flu?  Perhaps unforeseen collateral damages and developments?

Has anyone wondered why this just started. Spring break with youth from all over America to spread a disease across the US at one time. How better to plan an attack. Or is this too Politically incorrect to investigate?  Obama was there when it started.
