If the Zeiss is in very good condition, I'd be tempted to go that route even in spite of illumination on the Meopta. I assume you're comparing the Diavari to the Meostar 3-12X56 w/ illuminated 4C reticle. I just have more experience with Zeiss scopes than Meopta. I own 1 Meopta, a Meopro (1" tube) fixed 6X42. It's a fantastic scope. I have no doubt the Meostar 3-12 is wonderful, as everyone I've ever heard from who's owned Meostars has raved about them. I would bet it's probably very close to the Zeiss in optical performance. However, the Zeiss Victory Diavari, Victory Varipont, and Victory HT series stuff is without question as good or better than anything available on the planet optically.

The Diavari 3-12X56 has 3.54" eye relief, which is about 1/2" more than the specs show for the Meopta.

My decision there would boil down to how much I value having the illuminated dot reticle. I'm a fan of illumination, but that's a really good deal on the Zeiss, provided it's in good condition.

You might be able to get the best of both worlds if you can muster up a few more bucks by looking at the new Zeiss Conquest Duralyt!
