think ive decided to end up purchased meopta meostar binos...was wondering tho which is more preferable for hunting....the 8x42 or the 10x42 ???  i hunt in MS ..i think the farthest view i have is maybe 400 yards out....at first i was thinking 10x42 but the 8x42 has more FOV...also a little cheaper

Good choice..... I have the 10x config and if I had to have just one I would pick the 8x for the larger fov plus the light gathering benefits.

I would get the 10X42HD version.

It has superior CA control and more neutral color than the non-HD models.

I like the HDs for all around performance, and they perform very well in low light ... for a 10X42.

Of course, the 8X42s have an exit pupil advantage, so they will remain apparently brighter longer.

Whether you find the extra exit pupil worth the cost in overall performance, that is up to you.

I got a set of the 10x42 HDs in
they are fantastic...
I have been running Nikon Monarch 8.5x56 for the last several years and really like them
They are extremely good in low light.

The Meoptas are every bit as good after dark.

I liked them so much I couldn't send them back...
damned good binos

I prefer 8x power, but that's just my opinion.
