I believe I have settled on the Meopta Meostar 10x42 binoculars.  I am wondering how the objective lens is tethered to the binoculars.  I have seen images showing a thread attached to the body while others show a removable flap design.  The websites I have seen only describe the covered as "tethered" but provide no clue as to how they are attached.  Does anyone know what the current tether design is for the objective lens?

I have the Cabelas Euro model of the Meostar.  Mine are more like your second link, except they fit around the outside of the barrel instead of the inside.

Please refrain from posting links to competitors' websites, especially since all of the pictures you are pointing to are sourced from Meopta's website.

Hello,

Currently (and as of the past six months or so) the objective lens covers for Meostar B1 42mm binoculars feature a tethered objective lens cap, like the Meostar B1 32mm line.

Thanks,
Surujh

Surujh, I see the Ca-belas line has been upgraded with new glass. Can we expect these changes in the Meopta line?

Hi,

Yes, the Meostar B1 10x42 will follow with HD optics after the release of the Cabela's 10x42 Euro HD.  First projections have them coming out from production in January.

Hi,

I don't think the entire line will follow-suit, but the next logical model would be the 8x42 with HD, simply because of the ease of adapting the mechanics/optics parameters.
