Do any of you guys own a Meopta? It appears to be a pretty good scope. I really like the mag range.. I would appreciate your experience, Thanks! JF

Yes, I own an R1 4-12x40 mounted on a 300wby.  I pretty happy with it, it's optics are simular to the conquest and scopes of this quality.

Meopta-optika, s.r.o. headquarters located in Prerov, Czech Republic is home to over 2,000 highly skilled associates. I got that off there web page!
So would you buy another one of there scopes?, the price seems reasonable.
Im wondering about this ballistic reticle? I cannot find any info on it at all.

I'd buy another, but I like to try different things.  Meopta has some involvement in the conquest line, though I can't recall what it is.

You sound like me, I like trying different scopes as well! Last Year I bought a 3x10x42 Swaro 4-A Reticle, American.. This Year I bought a VX-3 4.5x14x40 Long Range with the Custom Dial System. I cannot wait to try the Leo for Long Range Shooting.Smile One thing Im not nuts about on the Leo is the 4.5 Low End though, the FOV is not the greatest , but the glass is very nice I think, I could not be happier with it optically and the new turrets are way cool to.

But I like the idea of the  3x12x50 Meopta ,,,they are hard to find a nice 3x12, hardly anyone makes em any more...They are 3x10 or 3x9 mostly and my eyes need a little more.

I would the the ballistic Reticle but Meopta does not give any info about it.. The hold over lines seem very small and close together!!! I would hate to order it and have to send it back because of the BR....

Well Thanks for the onfo, maybe I can find more info online...

J......

You are talking about two different scopes.

The original question is about Artemis 2000, which is a different scope from the Meostar.   Meostar has better glass than Artemis 2000/2100. although both are pretty good.

Also Artemis 2000 scopes have FFP reticles, while Meostar has SFP reticles.  One other notable difference is that while Meostar scopes have aluminum tubes, Artemis 2000 tubes are made of steel.

As far as the connection with Zeiss Conquest goes, Meopta makes the glass for the Conquest scopes to Zeiss' specifications.

And some Meopta's are light on eye relief.  That said, the glass is good and the build quality feels good.

I owned one for a day, got rid of it, 2.75 inches of eye relief was not adequate for my 8-pound 300WM.

I do not want to wrestle with the eye relief issue on any scope. Its much simplier to be able to mount them wherever you want on the bases , more or less. Thats why I love my Swaro, its so simple and clear. You throw the rifle up and its all reticle, no moving your head or neck, VERY QUICK! VERY CLEAR and worth every penny IMO...

I told you you'd love it, they are indeed great scopes.
