Guys,

Does anyone still make the offset ring for a mannlicher schoenauer type mount?  I have a project rifle I am working on and did not really want to D/T the side of the reciever for a mount.  There are some custome made offset bases but I have not found rings.  I saw one complete set of Redfield bases/rings but $400 was the starting price for it.

Thanks

I'm not sure what you are looking for, but here is a couple of places that could help.

Watts is advertising $165 for the bases. They use standard Redfield type rings.
Also, everything I've seen about some Weavers that used to be available is that they don't fit.

Tahqua,

I had see the Watts but I have not managed to talk to anyone who has used them.  What have you heard about them?  I think they are going to be my only reall option.

The only thing I know is what I got off there web site. If you contact them they should let you know what type of steel the are made from. It does sound like it is from bar stock, though.
Did you happen to see the various mounting descriptions at the MS web site. There are a few different variations. I found that interesting. I have a friend with a scoped .06 MS that I will contact in the next few days and I'll try to dig up more.
You have a very nice gun to build your project on.

Yes there was certainly some different mounting systems used.  Plus when I have looked at the various rifles for sale some of them are using even different stuff.  Accumounts makes some repo side mounts for reproducion sniper rifles.  One of them might be an option if I have to go the side mount route but that is probably a last resort for me.
