M1 turrets = 1/4 MOA clicks
M2 turrets = 1/2 MOA clicks

First question, can M2 turrets be fitted to an excisting turret with 1/4 clicks? In other words do Leupold remove the turret assembly completely and install new units? Or do they simply modify the turret "top part"? (I have e-mailed Leupold but to date have had no reply.)

If it can be done, 1/2 MOA would give quicker dialing in of say 8MOA etc.

Next question, with the courser adjustment, how do you zero such a scope? Let us say you are 1/4 MOA off at 100 yds, you cannot get closer. The only way would be do shift the mounts.
1/4 MOA is OK on elevation, but not windage.

Again, any comments welcome.

For what you use it for 8's I would stick with the 1/4.  IF it was a game rifle 1/2 would be good but for your competitions and all you'll like the 1/4 better.
