I mounted an older (Japan, multicoated) Weaver 1-3x20 on my .22 CZ 452 Lux. This is a very good scope (sharp and bright, good for brush hunting in low light) that looks good and fits the rifle with it's hogback stock, but i am surprised at how much parallax error is there  in this scope. At 50 yards, POI can shift 1" just by me holding the head differently. I did not expect this at 2.5x power. The good thing is, the rifle and scope work perfectly for off-hand, sitting, kneeling, etc, but know very well when on the bench or prone, i guess it's about cheek weld and head position.

On a different small scope (2.5x20 Leupold Ultralight) i can hold my eyes and head in any way, the POI does not change.

It's all in the design of the optics, i guess. I like the little Weaver very much, it will stay where it is. The rifle will be used for hunting (squirell and feral cats) and shooting practice. These CZ 452s can shoot shoot well.

Parallax error differs a bit from optic to optic.  Aside from design differences, there is some sample variation as well.

A couple of other comments:
-parallax is generally more sever at lower magnifications, than at high magnifications. However, it is harder to check since we do not see the target as well
-make sure the reticle is focused properly for your eye
-longer eye relief of the 2.5x20 Leupold helps keep parallax in check
-at what distances do both scope appear parallax error free?

Both small scopes are mounted on CZ 452s, one a full stock, one a Lux version.
Both rifles and scopes have been and are being shot a lot, 5-8 thousand rounds per year. I am familiar with both rifles and scopes by now, so i can compare the scopes. They are both bright and sharp, even on low light winter evenings.
Leupold and Weaver state that their 2.5x20 Ultralight and 1-3x20, respectively, are set for a 100 yard parallax-free distance, i think.
I can't detect any parallax or head position error with the Leupold, but my shooting is sometimes off about 1" at 50 with the Weaver, and it's not the wind or the ammo or the scope shifting.
You are right, i do seem to notice more error in the Weaver at 1.5x than at 3x, when shooting at 50 yards, but not when shooting at 100, it does seem parallax free at 100, Which is just fine, the 2 rifles are shot mostly for training and practice. I will sight in the Weaver for 100 yards with the rifle's preferred ammo (Federal automatch, 0.4" groups at 50) and practice for hunting on 4" targets. With wind limitations, i guess...

I might put a monster scope with AO on these rifles to try Lapua and Elley ammo, just to see how they shoot of the bench. I've gotten 0.3" and  0.4" groups at 50 with inexpensive ammo so far...
