I need a smaller scope for my Remy model 7 for low light conditions. I afternoon hunt in swamps and bottoms where it gets dark quick. Before I plunk downs over $500 bucks for a Trijion1.25 x 4 x 24, anybody got any strong opinions.

There is a 3-9x40 Accupoint on samplelist.com right now for $399.  It is only about an ounce and a half heavier than the 1.25-4x24

It has been a few years since I have looked throught Trijicon's scopes, but the last one I saw you could not make good use of the illuminated retical because of the low quality glass.

Within the last 2-3 years Trijicon improved their glass quite a bit.  I think they are in the same league now as leupold VX-III, et al.

That 10mm exit pupil really does not give you anything.  If you are 19years old your eye pupil can dilate to as much as 7mm.  If you are older, probably less than that: 5-6mm.  So a 40mm objective lens with 4x magnification is mostly unnecessary bulk.
