I am putting together a new rifle and viewed many forums here and on other sites.  I  am looking to put a good base on a Savage 10.  Many have recommended Warne one piece and the Warne Tactical rings or the Warne M666-20MOA  base or TPS 20MOA.  I am have having problems locating these items, can anyone make any recomendations.

TPS products are available from www.tpsprecision.com

Warne can be purchased from a number of retailers.  There should be links to most of them at www.warnescopemounts.com

I am slowly switching out all of my ring/bases to the Talley Lightweight Aluminums two piece ring/base combo.  Very strong and very lightweight!

Well guys, it looks like I will mounting a Leupold VXIII 3.5 x10x50 M1 Tactical with the Illuminated reticle on the Savage. I came across a deal that I just couldn't refuse.  I will probably go with the Warne bases and rings.  Thanks for the help on locating them.  Any views on the Leupold.  I have always had great success with them,  Our agency SWAT team runs them on their rifles and they love them.

Never owned a Leupold.  I am sure it is a great scope, but expensive for what you are getting.  The other guys here can tell you more about how it compares with the others.  I am one of those that will never buy one just because they are so expensive compared to the other products of equal or better quality.  Now, that being said, as many people who use them and swear by them, I am sure that it is a great scope.  As for the VX I and VX II lines.  I have personally looked through those at sporting goods stores and while they do not look bad, again, expensive.  The Sightron SI series beats the heck out of them at probably half of the price.

By the way.  If you want to start a fire fight on this forum, just start debating Leupold versus other scopes and the more you push Leupold, the more the storm continues.  I am one of those that believe they are probably a darn good scope, but will not buy them for those reasons I mentioned.
