I am a new member and new to shooting, recently purchased a savage 93r 17btvs
rifle & leupold vx-3 4.5-14x40 scope and have been overwhelmed by all the
ring choices,  I was hoping someone on this sight could provide some
guidence on what would be a quality set of rings for this combination

  WELCOME to OT,EDMO!!!!!!!

Looks like your in luck.  I find only two brands and both are 1pc mount and rings.  Talley and DNZ.  Both are GOOD so take your pic.  The type scope you use will determine the height mount you'll need.  Any questions just contact SWFA.

Tallies are nice as you don't need a base with the one piece , they screw right into the rifle action.I have them on 4 rifles, not only do they work well they are quite a bargain.

One bit of advise,if you go with the Tallay's,do not crank them down as they will do damage.

Thanks to all for the input,  Talley seems to be the pefered choice
however i don't think they will work for me.  I forgot to mention
the savage 93r i bought has the sstl barrel & the scope i bought
is silver,  so i wanted the rings to match.  Looks like i will get the DNZ rings
