Basically, as the title implies, I am looking for my version of the perfect spr scope.  I am hoping that I may just be looking over an obvious candidate.

Lets start with what I have used in the past, and then go from there.  My ar15 started out as a 24inch barrel and fixed 10x bushnell 3200, and through the years has continually gotten smaller and more usable.  I then went with a falcon 4-14 mil/mil, and 20 inch kreiger.  Next came the ss 3-9, and finally down to a 18 inch barrel and 3-9 sightron mildot with fastfire/adm mount.  A couple pics of the evolution.

The rifle is mainly used for target shooting, hog hunting, and anything else the ar15 is useful for between 5-600 yards.  A few points about the shortcomings of the above scopes mentioned.  Obviously a 10x doesn't lend much flexibility.  The falcon and ss have exposed turrets with no zero stop.  These features don't lend well to chasing hogs around at dusk/night in the brush.  I never felt confident that the turrets didn't get spun inadvertently.  I decided to next try the sightron 3-9 mildot, and this scope has a couple things going for it.  A basic mildot, 3-9 power, and capped turrets are all big bonuses.  But in the end, the glass is just shy of horrible with the image quality above 7 power.

So what exactly am I looking for in an SPR-ish scope.  Ffp is a must, mil-based reticle,3-9 or 2-10 mag, low profile capped turrets, overall length about 12 inches, and relatively light weight. Mil adjusted and resettable turrets would also be nice, but are not a deal breaker.  I prefer to get the scope zeroed at 100 yards, and use holdovers.   Budget is not a real concern, but if the scope gets over 1k it had better be exactly what I am looking for.

Let me know what you guys think?

Sorry for not including this information on the first post.
A few scopes that I have around the house for comparison. A razor 5-20, weaver 3-15 edmr, trijicon accupoint 3-9 mildot, and I recently sold a premier heritage 3-15.  Most of these scopes work well for there intended use, but really don't fit exactly what I am looking for.

Currently SWFA has a SS 1-6 in prototype and the higher end guys are working on 1-8 models.  These fit the "flexibility" zone for the carbines nicely.

While I think the ss 1-6 would be a great hunting scope, 6x leaves a little to be desired on the top end for range work.  Having had several ffp scopes, I almost never find myself shooting at 6x.  But do find myself in the 9-11 range quite a bit. This is the reason why I am looking for a 3-9 or 2.5-10 scope.
As for the new 1-8 scopes, I think they are trying to do too many things with a single scope.  When you stretch yourself that far, you rarely do anything well.  The 1 power is probably not easy to look through as a red dot, and the tiny objective lens these scopes are employing are probably pitiful in low light, a la nxs 2-10x24.  This is all hearsay of course, because I haven't actually seen any of these scopes yet.

capped turrets are an option on the US Optic as are different reticles but there would be build time involved.
This Leu has capped turrets but back to 1/4 moa clicks and 2nd focal plane.

I'm not sure how the sn-3 has always escaped my searching.  I would of course change some things about how that one is configured, but I think you hit the nail on the head.  Fixed parralax, no illumination, capped slimline windage knob, erek, and a nice mil reticle would be just about perfect. Except for the whole weight issue, that sn-3 is just about perfect.  The other scopes just don't have the features that I am looking for. I guess when it really boils down to it, when you need a bunch of odd features in one scope, U.S. Optics is the only choice.

Thanks for the help guys, I knew my scope was out there somewhere.  It's too bad that the 3-9 vx-r patrol doesn't have caps for those mil knobs.

On a second look, the nxs 2-10x32 would save on the weight.  It also has low profile capped turrets, but you can't get the capped option in mil turrets.  Sfp instead of ffp like the sn-3.  I am really going to have to think about this one.  I have used both ffp and sfp scopes on this rifle before, and it would really come down to nitpicking between these two.

Does anyone have experience with either of these scopes?  Some insight would go a long ways.

My personal preference is the U.S. Optics scope.
