Chris

I'm looking for a spotting scope to use at the range. I shoot at 100 to 300 yards with the muzzleloader and rifle.  I'm tired of borrowing my friends spotter.

What do you think of the Burris Landmark 20-60x80mm? Are the Leupolds worth looking at? The spotting scope will be used at the range mostly but I might use it at my truck to look at deer in the field. I'm looking to spend under $400. Thanks for your help

The Burris is a very good spotter and will resolve bullet holes at 300 yards.  We get more returns and complaints on the Windriver over all other spotters combined.

Since you won't be dealing with weather issues you might look at the B&L Discoverer. It is a great scope at around $250. The B&L Elite is also a great scope (waterproof even) and can be found for a hundred dollars more. Both of the Leupold Gold Ring spotters 10-20X40 and 15-30X40) are fantastic.  The smaller one will run you $350 and the larger will require an additional C-note. These are far superior to the company's WindRiver offerings.
