Look at the SS classic scopes. Sometimes on the sample list you can get them for around 250ish.

There is not a 6-24X scope in that price range that is worth owning, in my opinion.
I've been saying it here for years: better glass always trumps more magnification. Always. I have a Tasco 6-24 sitting on a bookshelf in my office for just that conversation. Why mil dot?

Agree with the above that a lower mag better quality would be better spent, however having said that...if for just a 22 at paper in daylight conditions a mueller scope might be worth looking at. They are going to do what you want, not as bright or clear as others would be, but would give you features you want.

That lesson was really driven home the first time I took a Premier 3-15 to the range. My cheap Bushnell spotting scope with twice the magnification couldn't resolve bullet holes the way that scope could. The good news is that you can get some good shooting in on a budget with lower mag scopes. |
