Need some help on looking for a good 20X fixed power that will be on my Remington PSS 700 308. Bench and critters is what I'll use it for. Been looking for a side focus but most of them are rear focus.  Found the SS 20X42 and the Sightron 20X42 SIII. Any other good scopes out there in a price range of $500.00 or so. Thanks for all your help.

Look no further than the SS 20X42. I chose this scope for my Remington 700 Police due to its reputation, and I have not looked back.

I have scopes with front, side and rear parallax, and I have to say that my preference has become the rear parallax adjustment. The front adjustment is simply too far and cumbersome, the side adjustment is usually too sensitive, but the rear adjustment feels just right to me. It is as simple as making the adjustment to binoculars, with your hand closer to the eye.

This is exactly how your PSS would look with SS glass.

I also like the rear focus, and you should have plenty of money left over for good rings and bases.

Thanks

The base is a steel 6 Picatinny Slot mount made by UTG and has been bedded to the stock. The rings are SWFA 30mm rings and have been lapped, as well as aligned.

The first trip to the range with this setup resulted in a 5-shot group that measured 0.256.
