Check out a 3.5x15 50mm at the local Sportsman's Warehouse today.  To say the LEAST I was impressed!  Optical clarity is the best I've ever looked through.  Compared it to a Swarovski, Leupold VX-L, and a Zeiss Conquest (all similiar magnifications & sized front objectives) and the Nightforce was hands down the winner.  Not even close.  Only down side was the weight.  This is one big, heavy scope...

Maybe I'm going to have to start saving my coins and buy one!  Optically, I've never seen better.

As a side note, I hunt with two Kahles CL model scopes and the Nightforce blew them away, too...

I am very close on pulling the trigger on the very same scope,

I am currently checking prices and dealers so far I have found

(competitor)USA at $1299.00 any help for a better price would be

appreciated. This scope is going to be for my NDM-86 witch

could use the extra weight and my current M6DPRO is going

to go on my Tigr. I already have a IOR mount for this project.

The model I am looking at is the NXS 3.5-15-56 ill Mil-Dot.

I would think that SWFA would meet or beat that price.  Give them a try!

I've been looking at some Nightforce scopes and they are very good, although I do not think that they are better than competing (i.e. similarly priced) products.  By and large Nightforce scopes are too big and heavy for me, but I do like the fact that they offer a number of interesting reticle designs.  The only Nightforce scope that is of real interest to me at this point is a 2.5-10x24, since that is the configuration that does not seem to be available from any other manufacturer.  The only thing that is kinda similar is IOR's new 1.5-8x26.  The two scopes are similar in size and weight although the tube diameter is 30mm for Nightforce and 35mm for IOR.

I have not seen them side by side, so it is hard to tell.  I am however, very impressed with the optical quality of the 2-12x32 IOR that I have, and I doubt that Nightforce is better.

Ceylonc SWFA does not carry Nightforce, I think I might of just found a place

a little while ago. I am going to give them a call tommorow and get a estimate.

Koshkin I was also looking at that scope(2.5-10x24) but I decided to go with

the 3.5-15-56, I think it will actually help the weight of the NDM-86 which is

super light. I am not familiar with IOR scopes but I am shure they are very

close in glass quality. I have heard some bad reviews on the construction and

reapeatability of IOR's though, no such reviews just praise about Nightforce.

Alot of military Snipers compare Nightorce to scopes such as USO and S&B.

I prefer the reticle selection from Nightforce also, I fell in love when I saw thier

Mil-dot.

I just got off the phone with Keith and he really knows his optics.  He took 20 minutes to talk to me about Nightforce & other scopes in this market segment.  When the time comes to order he'll be the guy that gets my biz.

Thanks Chris for the referral!

Ceylonc check out the Ed Brown website, Ed Brown chose to display and recommend

Swarovski scopes for his Premium hunting rifles and Nightforce for his custom Marine Tactical

and Tactical rifles. I think my next rifle purchase  will come from there. I am very

impressed with the features on his guns.
