Dear all,
Having read this forum with interest I now call upon you to give me some advice regarding the acquisition of a scope for a new rifle. The gun in question is an H & S Precision tactical. My budget is restricted to $1450 for the scope. The reticule must be un-cluttered and have multiple zero/windage points. I am considering the Nightforce NXS and Leupold VX-L Extreme varminter. I have not looked through either of these and need some guidance. The scope will generally be used in daylight but will need to be lamp friendly Any advice welcomed. Kind Regards Peter |

Thought I would throw out a couple of scopes to see what appeals to you, these are alll GOOD glass. Tell us how you will be using the scope and we will have a better idea what to recommend.

Hi Urimaginaryfrnd,
Thanks for the advice........ I really do like the Zeiss but a Mil-dot ret is a pet hate of mine so I could not live with it. The Swarovski sems to be the best one of the two, however I do like a side PA. How does the Leupold VX-L Extreme Varminter compare to the Swarovski?? How does the TDS-4 reticule work (holdover points)? I plan to use this scope for long range fox and Small deer if the caliber law over here is changed? Upon reflection I think some daytime use is fair, but most will be under night/lamping conditions? Thanks for your help. Kind Regards Peter Edited by Plumplopps |

TDS 4 gives you known hold over points and some ability to estimate wind drift. Nothing has better glass than Swarovski and Kahles.

The swaro has an eye relief of 3 inches. I was about to get excited. now, not so much.
