Surrender, New York: A Novel by Caleb Carr, Paperback | Barnes &amp; Noble®

I took this out of the library and am reading it this time. The last time I had to take it back because I didn't get to it. Anyway, it's good. A little long and detailed like a screenplay (it seems) but it's OKAY. 

Would probably make an interesting mini-series.

Still reading Maisie Dobbs IN THIS GRAVE HOUR which is really freakin' good!  She's looking for someone who is executing Belgian refugees from World War I who had remained in England after the Armistice.

Now a new war has started and people are coming up dead...all shot with a Ruby pistol in the back of the head. British Secret Service and the Belgian Embassy put Maisie on the case because Scotland Yard reached a dead end, and besides the whole country is getting ready for a war.
