Are you referring to the VXII or the VX2? Here are some examples off the sample list.

Cataract,
Leupold has made some changes though. Through the years, the model number have changes as well as the features. Here is a timeline by serial number. When Leupold started in 1963-1983, they created the Vari-X II These featured a Magnesium Fluoride coating, 82% light transmission, micro-friction 1/2 MOA adjustments, had a three piece main body, had twenty eight total minutes of internal adjustments, were nitrogen purged, and they contained lead. Then they moved on to Vari Xc II, From 1984-2000. They still used Magnesium fluoride, maintained 82% light transmission, implemented finer adjustments, 1/4 MOA per click with 56 total internal MOA. Moved to a three piece main body, still purged with nitrogen, and still contained lead. Now in 2004-2011 they changed again. Now they boasted the new VX II had multi-coated lenses and sustained 92% light transmission. Made the turrets field adjustable turrets with 1/4 MOA increments and had 56 MOA total, introduced fast focus diopter, that locked, still purged with nitrogen, and still contained lead. Then Leupold created the VX-2. Improving the multi-coating to Match index with diamond coat and edge blackened lenses giving the shooter 94% light transmission, finger adjustable turrets in 1/4 MOA with 56 total MOA. Still using a two piece body. Now using an exterior thread diopter. But now using Argon and Krypton gases as a purging agent. No longer containing lead. All of Leupold's Riflescopes are made in Beaverton Oregon, USA. |
