Special Purpose Reticle SPR

Special Purpose Reticle (SPR)

With the Special Purpose Reticle, you can engage targets with greater precision at longer ranges than generally possible with other reticle styles, yet also use it for instinctive, close-range/low magnification engagements. It also features several methods of accurate range estimation, using the height or width of the target as a guide. To use the system, simply determine the range to the target using the mil system, then, use the corresponding aiming point that is matched to your cartridge to engage the target. For targets that are inside 300 yards, simply use the center aiming dot to engage.

Leupold Mark 4® 1.5-5x20mm MR/T™ M2 Riflescope

Features Versatile New Special Purpose Reticle

BEAVERTON, Ore. — Leupold’s® Mark 4® 1.5-5x20mm Mid Range/Tactical (MR/T™) M2 riflescope features an exclusive new Special Purpose reticle that allows precise engagement of targets at longer ranges while preserving the close-quarters, instinctive fire capabilities required by many military and law enforcement professionals.

"Not every tactical target is engaged at more than 1,000 meters, and not all situations occur at arm’s length," said Chris O’Donnell, Leupold’s tactical market leader. "There’s always middle ground, and that’s why this versatile new Mid Range/Tactical riflescope was developed."

In offering distant shooting precision as well as the instinctive fire capabilities of a Circle Dot reticle, the new 1.5-5x20mm MR/T M2 can be counted on to perform in environments ranging from open desert to heavy cover to urban areas. The riflescope’s wide field of view and bright image at the lower power make it especially suited to close-quarters engagements. The Special Purpose reticle is also available in an illuminated version designed to allow fast, accurate target acquisition and shot placement in extreme low-light conditions.

Designed to military specifications, the 1.5-5x20mm MR/T also features M2 finger-adjustable, knurled windage and elevation dials with audible, tactile "clicks" for adjustment precision. The knurled dials are designed for easy gripping and use in various shooting positions, even in wet conditions.

Another key feature is eye relief that has been optimized for AR-style systems to help provide the instant target acquisition required in tactical response. In addition, the 1.5-5x20mm MR/T M2 has Leupold’s Index Matched Lens System™. This lens coating system provides an exceptionally bright and clear sight picture with sharp contrast, even in low-light conditions.
