For years, Leupold customers have been sending them their scopes to make changes that suit their specific needs. Perhaps it’s changing a reticle to accommodate a change in shooting style or shortening parallax to mount a scope on a rimfire rifle. From what was originally all “word of mouth” service offerings, their fame quickly spread.

Today, the Leupold Custom Shop is famous around the world. With a menu of wide-ranging services, they can change the features of your Leupold scope to meet your unique shooting needs.

Reticle Changes

If you’ve decided a particular reticle is best for you, but your old Leupold scope doesn’t have it, or the new Leupold scope you want doesn’t offer it, send the scope to Leupold. The Leupold Custom Shop can install any of their reticles in nearly all of their scopes. Choose from four sizes of Duplex, two Leupold Dots, a variety of Target Dots, or even the Leupold Mil Dot reticle to mention just a few.

In most cases, they can install any of the non-illuminated reticle styles pictured in their catalog in any of their non-illuminated scopes.

Illuminated reticles can only be installed in illuminated reticle scopes.

If you wish to know the subtension of a reticle style in a particular scope, please consult the Reticle Subtension Chart located in their catalog, or if the reticle in which you are interested is not listed, contact the Leupold Custom Shop. See their Reticle Styles page to view available reticles.

Adding target-style adjustment knobs to your scope is just one example of the adjustment dial options you have from the Leupold Custom Shop. They can install the dials of your choice in almost any Leupold scope (the LPS models being the only exception). They can even change the dials of the VX-III Long Range M3 to those of the VX-III Long Range M1. You can have the elevation dial alone changed, or change both. The combinations are many, and the choice is all yours. Contact a Leupold Product Specialist in our Product Service Department for specific details regarding your scope.

Parallax Distance Changes

Leupold scopes that don’t feature parallax adjustment are set at the factory for a specific parallax distance: 150 yards for standard riflescopes, 75 yards for shotgun models, 60 yards for rimfire scopes, etc. If the purpose you have in mind for a scope isn’t compatible with the preset parallax distance, the Leupold Custom Shop can change it to the distance required. This even includes adjustments as close as 10 meters for air rifle applications.

Scope Renovation

Every Leupold scope is extremely rugged, and the typical one leads a hard life. Years of driving rain, sun exposure, heat, cold, dust, sand, rocks, mud, riding in saddle scabbards, scraping tree branches, and many other forms of abuse can damage the appearance of your scope. Now it can look as good as the day you bought it with a Specific Renovation from the Leupold Custom Shop.

Specific Renovation is handy when there’s just one piece of a scope you want replaced, such as a scratched maintube or chipped objective ring. If you want your Leupold to look as good outside as it works inside, give Leupold’s Custom Shop a call.
