I just picked up the latest issue of rifle magazine and it is listing the following upgrade:
retain the 1/4 MOA adjustments with index match lens system (94% light transmission) finger click adjustments lead free lenses diamond coat fast focus eye piece price in the 299 range I had been hoping for an upgrade like this. I have a winchester 52 .22 Repo LR that the little VX 2 3x9 EFR fits perfect...

The VX2's will surely get the job done. Glad to see some upgrades.

the Leupold VX-2 EFR is a beautiful scope!!! I want to get one for my Winchester 52B. Maybe I'll get a VX-3 2.5 X 8 and have it re-calibrated to 60 yards!!

If that scope has been upgraded to be better than my 3.5-10x50 Vari-X III EFR, then it should be a very good rimfire scope.

The little 3x9 EFR fits the 52 REPO. The high bolt lift won't clear most scopes but the EFR fits the gun perfect without any bolt interference.
Now with the listed improvements it is even a nicer match for this great squirrel gun.

It looks like Leupold has pretty much done another "hand me down". The old VX-III -- new VX-2. Old VX-II -- new VX-1. This should improve the "bang for the buck" of the Leupold lines, no?

Is there any way to know if you are buying a new updated VX2 rather than an older stock VX2?

There is no old VX-2.
The old Roman Numeral VX-I and VX-II are discontinued, replaced by the new, numeric VX-1 and VX-2. |
