Please give me your opinions

What is the better of the three?

Leupold M8 rimfire compact

Leupold FX-I Rimfire compact

or

Weaver Rimfire

in either 4X or the 2-7X

I looked at a 4X Leupold rimfire and was dissapointed at the optics.  There was some 'fish eye' effect at the 60 parallax setting and the lenses seemed to darken a lot at the edge.

Is leupold not what it's cracked up to be? or did I look at one that needs to be sent back??

thanks in advance.

Yep, I had the same problem with my M8 with targets of less than 50 yards. Leupold had already drop the M8 line.

Leupold FX-1 is the newer generation.

Hi; I have the Weaver Classic 3-9x32mm A.O. Rimfire scope on one of my 22LR and like it a lot for small game. I think it to be of pretty high quality. I would not trade even for Leupold VXI or VXII. The only thing on the Weaver I thought looked cheap is the plastic A.O., but it works fine and it is only a $200.00 scope.

If you want a good Leupold...I'd look at the EFR scopes.

Can you see me now...

For the money, Weaver rimfire scope are hard to beat.  Lower end Leupold scopes tend to be quite subpar.
