a little scope info please !!   i have a barely used leupold vari x 111 6.5x20 by 40 efr scope .    i think that its pretty good quality and descriptions that i read about it says that its good for closeup out to 1000 yards .   i'm just wondering what this scope is good for as i know nothing about scopes .   would it be an acceptable scope on an ar15 or maybe a savage .308 for long range shooting ??   thankyou --- yooper

That should be a good scope for either of those guns.  I don't know that it is capable of being a 1000 yard scope though at least on a .308.  It only has 50 MOA of internal adjustment and even if you added a 20 MOA base it would still be questionable to be able to reach 1000 without holdover.  If you added a 30 MOA base you would not be able to get a 100 yard zero and maybe not even a 200 yard zero but could probably reach 1000 okay then.

Now if you put it on a 7mm or something like that if would probably work as a 1000 yard scope.
Lifetime warranty and excellent customer service don't mean a thing when your gun fails during a zombie attack.
