I called Leupold requesting  lens cover for a Leupold 3x9x40
Varix II scope, and discovered that they never included lens
covers with their scopes, and even today you have to send
your scope to them and they will install one of two types of
screw on scope threaded covers, a flip up type and a flat disk
type, for 65.00. I think that I will pass on doing all of that just
to protect the lens, unless you guys know something I don't
know and convince me otherwise. I guess my only option now
besides sending the scope to Leupold is to buy some
aftermarket lens cover such as the Butlercreek flip ups, or
whatever. If anyone has a favorite way to protect the scope
lens on a Leupold scope, please chime in, I would like to
hear from others.  I never realized that Leupold did not include
a scope cover with their rifle scopes, go figure. Thanks....

All my scopes, except my luepolds ware butler creek flip up covers, I think their great.  All my luopolds ware screw on covers thanks to the fine people at SWFA, who provide them free of charge along with a scope coat.  Thanks guys!

I don't think anyone does .... except those cheapy rubber band shipping covers that come on them .... not just leupold . Way back when some had dual cord see-thrus from the factory but those days are over I think . No real descent types free .... binoculars ... and crap ... not something you really need ... go figger ....

You might consider the Alumina filters, although they are somewhat pricey. I found the RainCote ones didn't block any noticeable amount of light and they are easier to clean than the lenses mounted in the scope.
