had a lot of experience with it. 500 yd is about max. with the one I had. biggest problem isn't with the unit however, its the data change past 600 yds,The system works for groups of ballistic curves and the computer makes you pick one group. It doesn't allow for altitude, station pressure, for various other changes that make alot of diffference at the extended ranges.

There have been may advancements in laser ranging technology and Leupold should be superior to your older Bushnell.  That being said, only you'll be able to determine if the Leupold fits your needs.

Thanks guys... Don't think I will be shooting past 500 yrds so should be good...
- seem to be presented with 300 yd shot pretty regularly tho...and missed a deer(clean miss...thank God) due to elevation and my ignorence....
360 is my farthest attempt and kill so far... So I am trying to better prepare... I don't like taking "stupid" risks with an animals life...

If max. 500 yds is your goal, there are lots easier, faster solutions than rangefinders.

Its  responsible to know ones limits and adhere to them.  I have confidence to about 300 yds, after that I get a little hesitant.

Lucytuma.... We are in complete agreement on that one... For me it all depends on my rest... Off hand.. @80 yds max...
That deer at 360 was out of a box blind with the equivelant of a bench rest...
I've taken a deer at 230 yds kneeling hokding on to a 3/4" sapling to steady... For me when I look thru the scope its either there or its not... I have taken plenty of ribbing for watching em walk away...
Never injured one .. And have only missed once... And I held to high for the angle and shot right over her back... (My ignorence) ..
