Feller I have always wanted a leupold scope and I order one Friday. I hope I made the right decision. I like the VX-R 3X9X50 FIBER OPTIC 4 RETICLE AND ALSO THE VX-3 3.5 X10X50 HEAVY DUPLEX.I wanted a reticle that I could see about dark or early morning deer hunting. I DECIDED ON THE VX-3. I hope I made the right decision .what do ya'll think.

If YOU like it, it doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks about it. If it fits your needs and has the features you like... party on Dude... The only time you need to second guess your choice if there is some failure in performance vs representation...

The VX-3 series scopes are excellent, as are the VX-Rs. There is never a universally "correct" "which is 'best' between Product A vs. Product B" decision that applies to everyone, all the time.
You chose a good scope. Enjoy it!

I think you should send it to me for thorough real world testing. I'll send it back in a few years along with a hand written certificate of suitability.

Well, the only way to know for sure is to get both and try 'em. Can't imagine a 50mm with the heavy duplex won't work, though! I'd bet on just the 40mm going an hour after sunset in a clearcut. The previous generation sure would.
